KLM Heating & Cooling is looking for an experienced Commercial/Residential Refrigeration Technician to join our team! We are full-service residential & commercial contractor specializing in repairs, preventive maintenance, and new installations. You will be responsible for processing and completing work orders, conducting startups on new refrigeration systems, troubleshooting refrigeration system failures, and performing equipment maintenance. You may also be required to advise on equipment upgrades and alternate cooling units.

To ensure success as a refrigeration technician, you should have advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, good mechanical skills, and excellent troubleshooting skills. Ultimately, a top-class refrigeration technician expertly installs, repairs, and maintains refrigeration equipment for a client with the least amount of down-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a refrigeration technician (2+ Years)
• Braising and soldering skills.
• EPA License.
• Kentucky Journeymen License.
• Drivers License.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

Refrigeration Technician Requirements:

• Troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures.
• Replacing worn seals, outer shells, and worn-out motors.
• Informing clients of repair costs and alternate cooling options.
• Processing and completing work orders.
• Contacting the client to ascertain their equipment needs.
• Ordering equipment parts.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Observing and testing newly installed systems.
• Pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Must have a strong work ethic.
• Must have excellent verbal and organizational skills.
• Must have a strong desire to succeed.
• Must be willing to learn.
• Must commit to a full-time schedule, with some mandatory overtime during the busy times.
